For the Summer of 2018, Gabriel joined the Harrison Lab and worked on analyzing different categories of Dorsal Root Ganglion (DRG) neurons based on gene expression. There are many different types of neurons, each of which express different genes at various levels, in the DRG.  Using bioinformatics tools, including R and BRIE Analysis, Gabriel worked through large datasets of this heterogeneous population in order to determine clustering and gene expression trends in different subpopulations of DRG neurons.
